How to choose a pressure transmitter?

The selection of pressure transmitter UPB1 should start from the following 7 aspects:  

1. Measuring medium

2. Accuracy level

Usually the accuracy can be controlled within 0.25% FS.

3. Range

The pressure range measured by the sensor is 70% of the full range of the sensor.For example, to measure the pressure of 70bar, the range of the pressure transmitter should be 100bar.

4. Output signal

At present, there are many kinds of output signals of pressure transmitters, mainly 4...20mA, 0...10V, 0...5V, etc., but the more commonly used are 4...20mA and 0...10V. Among the output signals I mentioned above, only 4...20mA is a two-wire system (the output we say is a few-wire system does not include Grounding or shielding wire), others are three-wire system.

5. Medium temperature

Since the signal of the pressure transmitter UPB2 is partially converted through the electronic circuit, under normal circumstances, the temperature of the measuring medium of the pressure transmitter is -30 to +100 degrees. If the temperature is too high, we generally use a condensation curve to cool medium.  

6. Wetted material

What we have to consider is the medium measured by the pressure transmitter. The material of the contact medium part of the pressure transmitter is 316 stainless steel. If your medium is not corrosive to 316 stainless steel, then basically all the pressure transmitters are suitable for you to measure the pressure of the medium.

If your medium is corrosive to 316 stainless steel, then we need to use a chemical seal, which can not only measure the pressure of the corrosive medium, but also effectively prevent the medium from contacting the wetted part of the pressure transmitter UPB3-c.

7. other factors

After we determine the above five parameters, we must confirm the process connection and the supply voltage of the pressure transmitter; if it is used in special occasions, also consider the explosion-proof and protection level.

Generally, when we measure relatively clean fluids, we can directly use standard pressure transmitters. If the medium is easy to crystallize or viscous, the flush diaphragm pressure transmitters UPB2S will be used properly.
